Model Approach Placard (M.A.P.)

Report

This is a tool for helping you finish models in miro by setting boundaries for what you're making.

Miro's canvas might be infinite, but humans are finite. This template helps us focus our finitude in light of the infinite.

As we find ourselves considering the connections between increasingly expansive problem spaces and tools with infinite canvasses, the Model Approach Placard is a tool for creating good boundaries that help us focus and keep track of what we need to make.

By identifying the Intention we have behind a model, along with who we're making it for (Audience), what we want to pay attention to (Aspects), the State we're describing, and the level of Abstraction we need, we can create a clear definition of done for our models. Clear definitions of done allow us to have confidence in our models so that we can begin using them sooner.

I am a habitual model-maker. I use models to keep track and make sense of all the complexities that interconnections that I see in the world. I have developed the Clear Models Framework, a method for helping other model-makers level up their ability to plan and decisively communicate the right thing, regardless of their modeling ability.
